Our Story
Born in Reunion Island, Michel Teyssedre grew up with the tropical vibes.
Passionated by computer science since his young age, he has always been looking for new technologies.
He went to France to study and graduated from the "Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers" (CNAM) in Paris. When he returned to his little island, he worked with a multinational technology company (IBM).
1999
In 1998 Michel decided to leave everything and moved to Mauritius.
With a blank page and he started writing the story of his new project.
In 1999 he created Expand Technology, the first company to launch smart card technology in Mauritius, which today celebrates 20 years of international success.
2002
Always looking for innovation and new projects, Michel created the France-Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the initiative of French entrepreneurs. With 21 sectors of activity and 6000 employees, its objective was to promote bilateral trade and investment between France and Mauritius.
2009
10 years of success in smart cards, with the export of 90% of his production in Africa, and a footprint in 16 African countries.
Michel was pleased and decided to diversify his activities, in Datamart, Business Intelligence and outsourcing.
2011
Expand Technology was recognised as a winner at the Grand Prix of the African Awards for Entrepreneurship in 2011, Kenya. This competition aims to reward companies with the most brilliant entrepreners in the African region.
2015
National Oil of Ethipoa awarded Expand in recognition and appreciation of professional support in establishing and implementing NOC E-card system
